PUBLIC SAFETY WEEK CONCLUDES WITH VISIT TO HIGH SCHOOLS, PARADE, AND CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING

Today, Friday, November 21, 2025, the Honorable Lieutenant Governor Herolyn S. Movick led a vibrant Police Parade that circled the island, showcasing the dedication and unity of Pohnpei’s law enforcement officers. The parade made special stops at Nanpei Memorial High School and Madolenihmw High School, where officers distributed candies and treats to delighted students. These treats will be further shared with elementary schools in the respective municipalities, spreading joy and reinforcing positive relationships between law enforcement and our youngest community members.
Tonight, Public Safety Week will culminate with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, marking the official start of the holiday season in Pohnpei. Festivities will begin with a parade starting at the historic Spanish Wall, proceeding through Kolonia Town, and concluding at the Governor’s Office, where the Christmas tree will be illuminated in a celebration of peace, safety, and community spirit.
